A look back at our successful preservation efforts
Downtown Historic Walking Tour
Completed in 2023, this self-guided tour features 15 historically significant locations in downtown Lamoni. QR codes at each location provide visitors with historical information, photographs, and stories about the buildings and their significance to our community.
Impact: Over 500 visitors have taken the tour, and it's become a popular attraction for both residents and tourists.
Digital Archive Initiative
Over three years (2020-2023), we digitized more than 2,000 historical photographs, documents, and artifacts. This collection is now searchable online and provides researchers and family historians with unprecedented access to our local history.
Impact: The archive has been accessed by researchers from 12 states and has helped numerous families trace their Lamoni connections.
