About the Lamoni Historical Association
Preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Lamoni, Iowa since 1962
Our Mission
The Lamoni Historical Association is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Lamoni, Iowa and the surrounding area. We believe that understanding our past helps us build a stronger community for the future.
Through our museums, archives, educational programs, and special events, we work to ensure that the stories, artifacts, and traditions of our community remain accessible to current and future generations.
Our Story
Founded in 1962 by a group of passionate local historians, the Lamoni Historical Association began as a grassroots effort to save important documents and artifacts that were at risk of being lost forever.
What started as informal meetings in members' homes has grown into a vital community organization with a permanent facility, extensive archives, and active educational programming.
